Last week, the SNB Marketing Board assisted in sending the first load stateside to Woodland using the new E-Manifest system. As the Board works through the procedure work for this system, producers are encouraged to reach out if they intend to send wood to LP or Woodland to coordinate delivery. Producers will be required to give an approximate volume and species percentage load by load in order to process the paperwork. Please note this does take more time and planning than other delivery options.
Deliveries to Woodland will need to be reserved through the office via a ticket system as Woodland is still trying to manage their high inventory. Payments will be processed through the Board.
Truckers looking to ship wood stateside are asked to reach out to the office to setup the e-manifest paperwork.
This week, AV notified the Board that prior to any producer delivering wood to their mill, the producer MUST submit the PID (or PID’s) to which the wood originated from, 5 days prior to delivery, in order to comply with the new European Union Deforestation Regulation. All producers planning to ship to AV should contact the SNB office at your soonest convenience to sign the paperwork.
Deliveries of maple and biomass are expected to commence May 18th, poplar pulpwood is not expected to resume until June.
Arbec has curtailed all deliveries. Arbec will not be taking any roundwood for the duration of the spring road closure season. Arbec is hopeful to resume purchasing in June.
Deliveries to LP have resumed. Please contact the office to setup the e-manifest paperwork.
The 14th SNB Marketing Board – JDI contract is coming to a close after 9 weeks, ending May 10th, 2026.
This week, JDI met in person with the SNB Board Negotiating team to reflect on the previous contract and discuss upcoming purchase-wood details. More information is to come at a later date.
With the 15th Board contract commencing on May 11th, producers are asked to contact Devin or the SNB office to submit an estimation of their expected production.
JDI has made it clear with the new contract, all deliveries of softwood pulpwood are to be delivered to the South Bay pulp site in Saint John.
That being said, JDI is still looking to get trucks set up for access to the South Bay softwood pulpwood site. Trucks will be required to use an access card issued by industrial security to provide access through a gate between the weigh scales and the chip plant. JDI is also working on the “ScaleBoss” cards that will be needed at the scales to weigh loads in.
Anyone who is delivering pulpwood to Sussex now should be set up with access to the South Bay operation.
A friendly reminder, all producers must submit a signed copy of the new EUDR regulation acknowledgment form prior to receiving payment for their delivery.
Producers are to use “SNB Marketing Board (producer name)” as the contract number when filling out the TC.
Woodland Pulp, Maine will be taking a temporary shutdown May 11th – 13th. The mill will resume purchasing hardwood pulpwood May 14th @ 5am US time – maximum 25% poplar per load.
All loads to Woodland need to be authorized through the Board s Woodland is still trying to manage their inventory. Pricing remains the same, however, there is now a maximum of 25% poplar per load permitted. An additional fuel surcharge which fluctuates weekly, will be included to the delivered price.
Effective February 27th, 2026, Marwood has curtailed all deliveries of red pine. Please do not cut any red pine for the remainder of the spring season. Hemlock to Littles Lumber and cedar to Traceyville remain open for deliveries.
Taylor Lumber is still purchasing softwood sawlogs, maximum 25% balsam fir (minimum 75% spruce), minimum top of 5”, for a price of $122.25/gmt. Lengths are 10’6”, 12’6”, 14’6” and 16’6”.
